Rita Gail Roark Fraychineaud

It was a very sad morning for the Fraychineaud family on October 2, 2023, when Rita passed away in her sleep while visiting her daughter Tina in Alabama.

Rita was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family and loved ones with all her heart.

Rita was born on June 21, 1949, in Union, South Carolina. Rita and her family left South Carolina and moved to Louisiana when she was around six years of age. Rita and her husband Gary had been married for over fifty-five years. They were blessed to have four loving children together, Tina, Gary Jr, Cheves Joseph, and Heidi. Rita was the proud grandmother of Tory Chesney, Dane Chesney, Marisa Chesney, Angelina Burke, and Adi Burke, Jasmine Noel, Austin Noel, Breanna Noel, and Journey Fraychineaud. She had one great-grandson, Greyson. She loved all of her grandchildren the same. She didn’t favor one over the other.

She is survived by her husband Gary, daughter Tina Burke (Braynn), son Gary Jr., and Heidi Noel.

She is preceded in death by her loving son Cheves Joseph, her grand daughter Angelina Burke. Her parents Dad Marshall, Mother Leila Dupree Roark, her sister Rebeca Ann, three brothers David, Wayne, and Larry. Her best friend Judy, sister-in-law Sheila. Three nephews Roy, Glenn, and Josh.

Rita loved and enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren on holidays every time they came around. Rita loved life and lived her life to the fullest. She was a person who loved to talk. She would meet a complete stranger while waiting to see her doctor and would start a conversation with the person sitting in the chair next to her and talk as if she knew that person all of her life. She would do this everywhere she went.

Rita will be missed dearly by her family and all of her friends she had made throughout her life.

There will be a Memorial held at a later date. To be announced.
