Rita Mamie Boudreaux Segreto, 92, passed peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at home with her beloved family in Picayune, MS.
Born January 16, 1923 in Gonzales, LA to Ruby and Samuel Boudreaux, Rita was a lifelong resident of New Orleans where she raised her family with her husband, James John Segreto.
Rita was a switchboard operator for Bellsouth, a caring mother and homemaker to her 3 children. In 1986, Rita was widowed, where she then resided with her daughter and son in law in Metairie, LA, then, Picayune, MS became her home in 1996.
Rita's lifelong wishes for Peace, Prayers, Love, and Family will continue on through the family she has left behind. She was embraced with the loving care of her daughter, Linda, when she was finally called home within God's arms.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Linda and son in law, Donald Moore, and daughter, Jeanne Marie Smith. Her grandchildren include Jeanelle Beck, Andrea Moore, and Jeremy and Brian Smith. Great grandchildren are Nicholas Hahn and Keaton Rodriguez, Jamie, Jolene, and Jaylynne Beck and Jaylie, Jade, and David Smith. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters, Isabelle (Ray) Broussard and Pat Domke and 11 nieces and nephews.
Rita is preceded in death by her son, John Segreto and her brothers, Noble and Samuel Boudreaux.
We will gather to celebrate Rita's life on Wednesday, October 28th at Picayune Funeral Home. Visitation from 11-1:00 followed by a prayer service and burial at Memorial Gardens.
