Robert Walter Cutrer Jr. (60) of Carriere, Mississippi stepped into eternal rest on November 14th, 2023. Robert was a proud veteran who served in the United States Navy in the submarine fleet for seven and a half years. He was a plank owner and Gold Crew Member of the USS Alaska (SSBN-732), a member of the USS Alaska Reunion Committee, and a member of the USS VI Redfish Base.
After his military service, Robert was a civil engineer for Luhr Bros., Inc., for fourteen years and was often described as very detail oriented and precise in his work. He was an active member of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Picayune, MS. He also loved exotic cars, as well as Indy car racing.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife Melanie S. Cutrer, sister Elizabeth Cutrer, brother Louis Ray Cutrer (and Louis’s wife Mary), two children Keith Juneau (and Keith’s wife Angela), Lindsey Graves (and Lindsey’s husband Sean), mother-in-law Linda M. Sortino, two grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother Louise Farve, father Robert Cutrer Sr., grandparents Charlie and Hilda Farve and Alton Cutrer, and father-in-law Vincent J. Sortino.
A memorial service will be held in Robert's honor at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Picayune, MS, on Saturday, December 9th. Friends will be welcomed starting at 10am. The service will start promptly at 11:30am. Please come honor Robert as he has embarked on his eternal patrol.
