Following Ronald's cremation, many delays and restrictions due to the COVID Pandemic, caused burial arrangements to be put on hold.
Ronald spent his youth growing up in the "Irish Channel" neighborhood of New Orleans, LA and graduated from Redemptorist High School. Soon after graduation he marries Jo Ann Duhurst, settled in Metairie, LA and raised his family of three sons. He also served in the Naval Reserves (Submarine Branch) of the United States Navy from 1955 to 1962, and was honorably discharged.
He was a full-time employee of New Orleans Public Service (a family-oriented company) which eventually became Entergy Corp. There he quickly acquired his well-known nickname of "Gabby".
Ronald served his community by joining the reserve unit of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department and also was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Little Farms, LA.
In 1992, Ronald relocated to Carriere, MS and married Kathleen Folse Dunne in 1993 at the Lodge in the community of Hide-A-Way Lake where he enjoyed boating and fishing from his lake home.
Retiring in 1998 after 40 years of service from Entergy Corp., he devoted more than 17 years serving on the Board of Directors of Hide-A-Way Lake, with 4 of those years as President.
Ronald also especially valued his time spent with his wife Kathy, venturing on family camping trips in the beautiful parks of Mississippi and Tennessee.
Most of all, Ronald enjoyed listening to his favorite music on his porch while feeding and watching the birds with his beloved Dachshund, "Honey Bun" by his side.
Football season was his favorite time of year when he would watch and "fuss" at the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.
Ronald passed quietly on April 23, 2020, with his wife and family present at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS, where he received the utmost care.
Special thanks to Dr. Robert Lopez and his nurse Sandra for such heart felt guidance, and to all the staff at Asbury Hospice, especially to nurse Diandra and her assistant Frieda, who were of great comfort. Their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents: Alma and Felix, Jr.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy, siblings: Evalyn Ingalls, Carol Aiela, and Gerod Scheuermann, his sons: Ronald, Jr., Dwayne, and Daryl Scheuermann, stepchildren: Heidi Barrett and Chad Dunn, nine grandchildren: Brandy, Jessica, Kerri, Ron III, A.J. (Austin), Kadence, Shelby, Kaylee, Landon and numerous great grandchildren.
