August 26, 1961 — March 30, 2024

Scotty Ray Smith of Picayune, passed into his forever home on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

Scotty was born in Picayune but spent most of his life living in New Orleans before moving back to Picayune permanently. His passions were the horses that he worked around at the racetrack, spending time with his nieces and nephews who he loved as if they were his, and of course LSU.

Left to cherish his memories is his brother, Speedy Smith (Annette); 3 sisters, Gayleen Mitchell (James), Kendra Shipman, and Karmen Necaise (Randy); Nieces and nephews, Micah Mitchell, Erica Singley, Taylor Smith (Mary), Desirae Necaise, Denae Besanson (Jacob), Colton Necaise, Chelsea Smith, Scooter Shipman, Logan Necaise, Kelsi Shipman, and Johnathan Spruill; Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews, Brailey Levi, Presleigh, Adylin, and Easton.

He is preceded by his parents, Johnny and Dorothy Smith.

Visitation will be at Picayune Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 1:00pm – 3:00pm with Services to follow at 3:00pm. Burial will take place at Lee’s Chapel #2 Baptist Church.
