Shirley P. Alexander

Graveside services for Shirley Ardell Peters Alexander, who passed away at the age of 88 on February 22, 2015, will be held at Port Hudson National Cemetery in Port Hudson, Louisiana on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of the Picayune Funeral Home. A native of Poplarville, Mississippi, Shirley was born April 16, 1926.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Major Gary E. Alexander, son Gary E. Alexander, Jr., grandson John Dustin Alexander Dyer, granddaughter Angela Bond, parents Raymer and Ida Lou Peters, and eight siblings.
Survivors include her three daughters: Sharon (Chris) Bond, Phyllis Alexander Shirey, and Jeanie (Robert) Latiolais, as well as ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
