Sylvester Stewart of Carriere, Mississippi passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the age of 87 in the comfort of her home.
Sylvester was a lifelong resident of Carriere and a member of Lee's Chapel #1. He loved hunting, farming, and his cows. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vera Stewart; brother, Jimmy Stewart (Nell); three grandchildren, Rebecca Hill (Dewayne), Angela Smith (Billy), Shoneen Kendrick; and six great-grandchildren, Hayden Skantz, Jacob Skantz, Tyler Aldridge, Colton Smith, Haley Aldridge, and Elijah Rushing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Jordan Stewart and Everal Henley; one son, James Stewart; brothers, Huey Stewart and Audel "Sonny" Stewart.
Services will be held at Picayune Funeral Home, Tuesday November 23, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. followed by burial at New Palestine Cemetery.
