Thomas Matthew "T.J." Johnson, age 45, of Picayune, Mississippi passed away September 12, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
A family memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at 121 Salem Rd., Picayune, Mississippi.
T..J. was a resident of Pearl River County for thirteen years and a member of West Union Baptist Church. He was an honorary member of the 101st Airborne. He was very active in and sat on the board of the NICS Human Right Council in Lufkin, Texas. He was a contributor and a donor to the Prader- Willi Syndrome Association and a graduate of Huntington High school.
He is survived by brothers, Elton E. Johnson, Jr. and his wife Wendy of Hawaii and John P. Johnson and his wife Nikki of California; sisters, Martha Linville of Arkansas, Judy Cummins and her husband Richard of California; sisters and caregivers, Sara Johnson of Louisiana and Ethel Knight and her husband Daniel "Daddyo" Knight of Picayune; Special Grandmother, Katherine Knight; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members; and his nurse and special friend, Mary "Cat Bird" Carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elton E. Johnson, Sr. and Alice R. Mewborn Johnson of Huntington, Texas.
