A loving father, son, and brother passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at the age of 55. He enjoyed being outdoors, cookouts with friends and family, and working on his farm. Above all, he was most proud of his commitment and dedication to being a law enforcement officer and willing to sacrifice his life to save others.
He is survived by three daughters, Kacie Mitchell of Picayune, Kaitlyn Mitchell of Kiln and Meghan Luparello of Slidell; mother, Joyce Gilley Milby of Mangham, Louisiana; two brothers, Russell Mitchell of New Jersey, and Dock Mitchell of Slidell, Louisiana; two sisters, Christi Crowdus of Houma, Louisiana, and Kamie Mitchell of Slidell, Louisiana; his life partner, Wendy Terrell Grantier of Kiln; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, William "Mitch" Mitchell; brother, Ray Mitchell; grandparents, Freddy and Marion Gilley.
Visitation will be held at Crane Creek Baptist Church in Perkinston, Mississippi on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Celebration of life will be held immediately following the services at Troy and Wendy's home.
Pallbearers will be Dock Mitchell, Tommy Bethea, David Hall, Clevland Parker, Chad Hoda, Ian Larsen, Joey Martin, and Johnny "J.R." Raffeo, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Russell Mitchell, and Jimmy Estes.
