Virginia Mae Jones, age 78, of Carriere, Mississippi passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 12:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Heustess officiating. Burial will be at Pearson Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was a resident of Pearl River County for 33 years, a homemaker, and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, August Panks of Diamondhead, Mississippi, and Albert John Panks, Jr. of Slidell, Louisiana; daughters, Darlene Mayo of Carriere, Mississippi, and Debra Singletary of Cocoa, Florida; and sister, Betty Faciane of St. Louis, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alda Meinhardt, Sr.; husband, Henry Owen Jones; son, Clayton Panks; and brothers, Charles Meinhardt, Melvin Meinhardt, and Fred Meinhardt, Jr.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Lori Panks and Jennifer Holston for their loving care of Ms. Ginnie for the last several years.
