Walter “Butch” “Rebel” Bennett Jr. (56) of Picayune, Mississippi went into eternal rest on Saturday January 11, 2025.

Walter was born in Picayune to father Walter Bennett Sr and mother Ruth Bennett Benandi on March 25, 1968. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and was known to be a joker. His family knew him as “Butch” and his friends knew him as “Rebel”. Walter was a forklift operator for SiteOne Landscape and loved his work.

He is preceded in death by his father Walter Bennett Sr., mother Ruth Bennett Benandi, step mother Carolyn Bennett, long term partner May Quintana, brothers Larry Bennett, Alan Edward Browder, James Owen Browder, and Wade Thomas Browder.

Walter is survived by his stepson Brandon Vegas (Kayla), stepdaughter Megan Spiers, brothers Shean Bennett, Henry Bennett, Keith Bennett, Wesly Browder (Christy), sisters Karen Henderson (Robert), Summer Bennett, Desie Poston, Dodie Bennett, Dana Bennett, Cheryl Speir, and 4 step-grandchildren.

A funeral for Walter will be held at a date to be announced at Picayune Funeral Home located at 815 S. Haugh Ave. Picayune, MS 39466

Visitation for Walter will be held on Wednesday January 15, 2025 from 12PM-2PM with a Funeral Service to follow at Picayune Funeral Home located at 815 S. Haugh Ave. Picayune, MS 39466

Burial to follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
