Wayne Farmer

January 10, 1954 — September 28, 2024

Wayne Farmer, age 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024, in Picayune, Mississippi.
Born in New Orleans, Wayne spent many cherished years as a resident of Marrero, where he built a life full of love, laughter, and profound connections.

As a devoted son, brother to fourteen siblings, US Navy veteran, husband, father, and pawpaw, he wore many hats with grace and humility. His family was his pride and joy, and he leaves behind his beloved son, Alexander Payne, and daughter, Lola Payne. His godchild, Nicole Foy (Ronnie), held a special place in his heart. He adored his grandchildren Destiny (Danny), Gloria (Laurie), Ryan, Evelyn, Anthony, Zoe, Sailor, Sasha, CJ, and Charlie along with ten great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy.

Wayne was a man of deep curiosity and a relentless passion for understanding the world around him. His love for science and exploration mirrored his approach to life, always seeking answers to the unanswered parts of existence. He was a hero in many ways not just to his family but to all who knew him.

Wayne’s journey in this life has led him back to those he loved who have passed before him. He is now reunited with his cherished parents, Gloria and Harry Farmer, his loving wife of 38 years, Jan B. Farmer, his daughter Tiffany Payne, grandsons Thor and Joshua Payne, great-granddaughter Rebecca Camus, and nephew Sidney Hingle.

As we say goodbye to Wayne, we remember his laughter, his unwavering love for his family, and his love for football. He leaves behind a legacy of humor, curiosity, and an unwavering belief in the importance of connection. Wayne will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who loved him.

In honor of Wayne’s memory, let us cherish each moment and continue to explore the wonders of life, just as he did.
